Visa

Citizens of CIS countries and 44 other European and non-CIS countries are allowed visa-free entry to Kyrgyzstan.

Temporary registration on the territory of Kyrgyzstan

Citizens of foreign countries with visa-free regime are exempt from temporary registration if the period of their stay in the Kyrgyz Republic does not exceed 60 days (for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 90 days). Citizens of states subject to a simplified visa regime are also exempt from registration in Kyrgyzstan if the period of their stay does not exceed 60 days.
Foreign citizens of other states and stateless persons arriving in the Kyrgyz Republic for a period exceeding five working days are subject to registration at the place of stay.

Import and exchange of currency

You can bring any amount of currency from CIS countries into Kyrgyzstan without declaration.

Foreign currency worth more than USD 3,000 is subject to written declaration. The amount is specified in the customs declaration, which should be kept before leaving Kyrgyzstan - it will be required at the customs office upon departure.

On the territory of Kyrgyzstan it is allowed to make payments only in monetary units of the Kyrgyz Republic - soms. Currency can be exchanged at numerous exchange offices and bank branches in cities and towns, as well as at airports.

Airports and flights to Issyk-Kul

Most flights arrive at Manas Airport in Bishkek. From there, Issyk-Kul can be reached by car (about 3 hours) or by domestic flight.
